Cleveland leveraged buyout firm Riverside Co. has acquired Advocate Medical Services, the Tampa, Fla., company that provides consumable medical products focusing on catheters, incontinence products and ostomy, for undisclosed terms, Riverside said in a release.

The University of Toledo Medical Center has replaced its former geriatric psychiatry unit with an inpatient orthopedic and rehabilitation area, according to the Toledo Blade.

Columbus-based Minimally Invasive Devices LLC said it has struck an exclusive distribution deal with San Diego-based CareFusion Corp., the former clinical and medical products division of Cardinal Health Inc. in Dublin, Business First of Columbus reported.

The Cleveland Clinic is lifting visitation restrictions aimed at preventing the spread of seasonal and H1N1 flu, and allowing children 18 and younger to visit patients at its hospitals, at all of its hospitals on Monday, Jan. 25, the Clinic said in a press release.
