CUDAHY, Wisconsin — Health care laundry company Superior Health Linens LLC has raised $1.5 million in equity, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission regulatory filing.

The company provides linen services to hospitals, nursing homes and clinics for a 29,000-square-mile area in Wisconsin and Illinois from three locations. Its services include renting, laundering and delivering bedding, towels, blankets and clothing.

Superior Health Linens is seeking to raise $3.5 million, according to the filing. The laundry business is apparently more profitable than one might guess. The company raised $1 million in July 2009 and $5.3 million in 2007, according to other regulatory filings.

The company says its “proud to be accredited by the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council,” which required showing that it follows government standards for handling, processing and transporting health care textiles.
