The Center for Integrative Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic’s Wellness Institute has hired staff members and added services to handle the growing demand for an holistic approach to caring for the physical, lifestyle, emotional and spiritual needs of patients.

Dr. Brenda Powell, a family medicine and women’s health expert, has been appointed to the center’s medical staff at the center, which is housed at the Wellness Institute’s Lyndhurst campus. Powell joins Dr. Tanya Edwards, medical director for the center, and Dr. Thomas Morldege. She begins seeing patients on June 1.

The center has begun offering holistic psychotherapy services. Zivia Bairey will offer therapies that include hypnosis, traditional talk therapy, art therapy and breathe therapy. Bairey also will see patients at the Lyndhurst campus.

Frank Caruso, a licensed acupuncturist, will begin seeing patients May 3 at the Cleveland Clinic Sports Health Center.  Caruso specializes in treating athletic and orthopedic disorders.

The center already includes professionals who do therapeutic massage, mind/body coaching, Reiki and yoga.

“We are excited to be bring new services to our patients to help them address their medical, emotional and spiritual needs,” Edwards said in a Clinic release. “By expanding our programs and our staff, we can better meet the needs of the community.”
