MetroHealth System‘s vice president of medical operations has resigned.

Sarah Stamp is leaving Cuyahoga County’s safety-net hospital system to “pursue new opportunities for professional growth,” according to an internal memo announcing her departure. A MetroHealth spokeswoman forwarded the memo at the request of MedCity News.

The memo, written by COO Dr. Ed Hills, praised Stamp for the “dedication, enthusiasm and tenacity” she brought to the role.

The spokeswoman said she didn’t have any further information regarding Stamp’s exit.

Stamp began her job overseeing MetroHealth’s day-to-day medical operations in 2005.  Stamp’s resignation and the hospital’s careful phrasing of the announcement bring to mind the circumstances surrounding the departure of MetroHealth’s former chief operating officer.

Earlier this year, COO Angeline Marano resigned after less than a year on the $440,000-per-year job, citing an inability to forge a bond with her boss, CEO Mark Moran.
