GE Healthcare gets $43M federal deal

GE Healthcare wins $43.2 million in funding from the U.S. Dept. of Defense for patient monitoring systems.

GE Healthcare landed a $43.2 million contract from the U.S. Dept. of Defense, the federal agency announced.

The contract with the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support agency calls for the Wauwatosa, Wis.-based General Electric Co. (NYSE:GE) subsidiary to provide patient monitoring systems, subsystems, accessories, consumables, spare/repair parts and training to the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies, according to the Defense Dept.’s website.

The deal announced Jan. 10 represents the exercising of the contract’s second option year. The date of completion is slated for Jan. 13, 2012,according to the DoD.
