Simbionix releases new women’s health surgical simulators

Medical education and training company Simbionix USA has launched two new women’s health surgical simulation products.

One product, the Pelvic Mentor, combines a mannequin with a computerized 3-D system and is intended to prepare gynecologists and urogynecologists for pelvic floor reconstruction with an emphasis on transvaginal mesh procedures, according to a statement from Cleveland-based Simbionix.

The second product is a laparoscopic hysterectomy training module for obstetrics and gynecology surgeons.

Additionally, Simbionix has created an online network of communities for physicians to share information and learning that the company calls Simposia.
