A first look at Minnesota’s health insurance exchange options

The Minnesota Department of Commerce today rolled out some examples of what the state’s health insurance exchange website may look like.

Mandated through U.S. healthcare reform measures, health insurance exchanges are state-run websites that allow consumers to enter information and comparison shop for health plans.

Five companies put up prototypes for Minnesota, including Curam Software, Deloitte Consulting and Getinsured.com. Here’s a look at one from Ceridian. (See the rest here.)

The state is inviting users to share their feedback on the prototypes through an online survey.

Currently, Utah and Massachusetts are the only states that already operate exchanges, but all states’ exchanges must be operational by January 2014.
