Next Wednesday, December 5, LifeScience Alley is proud to host Dr. Michelle McMurry-Heath, MD, PhD, Acting Chief Science Officer for CDRH, to introduce business and academic leaders to the FDA’s strategy to further Regulatory Science as a means to improve the performance of the medical device eco-system.  In addition, Dr. McMurry-Heath will be joined by Dr. Maura Donovan, PhD, to brief participants on an exciting new public-private partnership between industry, academia and CDRH, the Medical Device Innovation Consortium (MDIC). The 2012 LifeScience Alley Conference, “Today’s Science. Tomorrow’s Healthcare.”, will feature a New Technology Showcase sponsored by Mayo Clinic. Ten life science and health care organizations have been selected to exhibit cutting-edge technologies with three of the ten selected organizations presenting their technologies during the luncheon general session.

During the luncheon general session, Corventis, Inc., of St. Paul, Minn., will be presenting a wireless diagnostic solution to monitor and analyze various measurements from cardiovascular patients.  Entellus Medical, a Plymouth, Minn., company, will be presenting a set of minimally-invasive sinusitis treatment tools.  Additionally, Monteris Medical of Winnipeg, Manitoba, will be presenting a MRI-guided, minimally-invasive system for treating brain tumors.

These organizations will be joined in the New Technology Showcase exhibit area, located in the newly re-designed exhibit hall, by seven other finalists: Acuity Medical; Clinical Healthcare Corporation; IntraMed/Express Diagnostics, LLC; Mobi, LLC; Sunshine Heart; Tamarack Habilitation Technologies, Inc; and Vital Simulations, LLC.

The New Technology Showcase provides an opportunity for companies around the world to apply for the opportunity to exhibit innovative medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and health care delivery products.
