MedCity CONVERGE has started its search for 24 of the best startups across healthcare. CONVERGE, an executive summit on July 9-10 in Philadelphia, delivers the most accurate picture of where healthcare innovation is heading because it unites all sectors in healthcare.
So the CONVERGE Startup Showcase will be no different. We’ll bring a collection of early-stage companies from across the life sciences and digital health that have unique ideas to some of the big opportunities in medicine. We’ll recognize them on MedCityNews.com, they’ll get showcase space and be able to network with 500 thought leaders across healthcare. In some cases, Startup Showcase members will participate in the panels or deliver a main-stage demonstration.

A Deep-dive Into Specialty Pharma
A specialty drug is a class of prescription medications used to treat complex, chronic or rare medical conditions. Although this classification was originally intended to define the treatment of rare, also termed “orphan” diseases, affecting fewer than 200,000 people in the US, more recently, specialty drugs have emerged as the cornerstone of treatment for chronic and complex diseases such as cancer, autoimmune conditions, diabetes, hepatitis C, and HIV/AIDS.
