The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, better known as CHIME, recently launched two new trade organizations that will serve healthcare execs in senior technology and application roles.

According to the group, the newly formed Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Technology and the Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Applications are the first such organizations representing chief technology officers and chief application officers in healthcare.

They were formed to help educate and provide resources for such execs while promoting a collaborative environment, the group said.

“With the establishment of these two new organizations, CHIME has taken an active role in providing these healthcare leaders an opportunity to pool their collective knowledge and advance their skills,” CHIME Board Chair Randy McCleese said in a statement. “CIOs are increasingly relying on leaders like CTOs, CAOs and CSOs in order to deliver and manage a complex technology environment, so collaboration among these highly-accomplished individuals is essential to furthering industry solutions and opportunities.”
