Pauline Cafferkey, a health worker who was diagnosed with the Ebola virus after returning to Scotland from Sierra Leone, has be transferred to a hospital in London. She was working with Save the Children.

Cefferkey flew to Glasgow through Casablanca and London Heathrow and was later taken to the Royal Free Hospital. The risk of infection to the public is low, according to BBC News Scotland. Efforts have been put in place to verify that the other British Airways passengers are in good health.

Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said she was “doing as well as can be expected in the circumstances”. Sturgeon took part in two emergency meetings on Monday – one of the Scottish Government’s resilience committee, and one of the UK-wide Cobra committee, chaired by David Cameron.

She told journalists that as a precaution, Health Protection Scotland has traced and contacted, or left messages with, 63 of the 70 other passengers who were on the same flight from London to Glasgow as the patient. Efforts to contact the remaining seven passengers will continue, according to the first minister.
