Stephen Colbert likes to think of himself as more than just a talk show host. He could be a politician “like that!” if he wanted to. But not many politicians could fill the shoes of the funnyman himself – that is until President Obama stepped in and showed off his hosting chops.

Instead of the standard segment “The Word” on last night’s The Colbert Report, Obama took his own angle (as Colbert) with “The Decree: To Health In A Handbasket.” As we’ve seen before with many late night show appearances, the president has no trouble nailing the self-deprecating humor. He is even happy to take the jabs about Obamacare.

With the help of Colbert’s writing staff and Obama’s natural timing, even jokes about about deterring young people from enrolling in the ACA by sending them information via LinkedIn will likely have an affect on the young voters who watch the show.
