What if those suffering from depression and bipolar disorder could experience relief almost instantaneously?

Tal Medical is using a neurostimulation treatment that could potentially change the face of psychiatric treatment entirely.

Most people who are diagnosed with depression or bipolar disorder are prescribed one of the variety of medications available that can take many weeks to make any sort of difference. Not only that, many experience extreme side effects from these drugs.

When someone has a severe form of these diseases or is suicidal, a practically instantaneous treatment could save lives and change the clinical paradigm of psychiatry entirely.

That’s what Tal Medical is looking to do using Low Field Magnetic Stimulation, or LFMS, which is derived from a very specific type of MRI. Though still in clinical trial phase, they are seeing very promising results after brief 20-minute sessions.

CEO Jan Skvarka shared about the developing technology Tal Medical is working during MedCity CONVERGE this week in Philadelphia.
