MD Revolution raises $23M to boost staff, product development

The company said it raised the fresh capital from Jump Capital and an unnamed global healthcare technology investor.

MD Revolution, a health IT company that targets patients with chronic conditions, has raised a fresh round of capital. Part of its service is designed to help physicians make the most of the reimbursement terms for chronic conditions that Centers for Medicare and Medicaid rolled out earlier this year.

In an emailed statement, MD Revolution Senior Director for Marketing Blair Hardie said it would use the $23 million it raised from Jump Capital and an unnamed global healthcare technology investor to grow its client services team to help implement contracts across the country. It would also support its clinical team to extend the delivery of value-based care to users of its platform.

“In addition, we will continue to develop our technology enabled services platform and machine learning capabilities,” the statement said.

The company claims more than 100 practices use its patient engagement platform, RevUp.  It is designed to provide two way communication between physicians and patients to guide patients on health issues, medication adherence, nutrition, and fitness. It also integrates information from EHRs, digital sensors, fitness trackers, and telephonic surveys. Health coaches use that information to give feedback to users.

Its target customers include physician practices, employer wellness plans and accountable care organizations.
