M&A exits startups

Huron Consulting Group, which has a health IT arm in addition to its consulting practice, has acquired digital health startup MyRounding for an unspecified amount.

Denver-based MyRounding has developed a Web-based application that helps hospitals manage rounding activities and allows clinicians to collect information from patients at the bedside. The company has reported sharp reductions in call lights and patient complaints about pain, as well as higher nurse productivity and satisfaction, from its customers.

“The addition of MyRounding creates a platform for our clients focused on helping them improve patient safety, patient satisfaction, and clinical quality,” said Gordon Mountford, executive vice president of Huron Consulting’s Huron Healthcare unit.

Huron Healthcare, based in Chicago, will oversee MyRounding operations. MyRounding executives Tony Gorski and David Marshall have joined Huron Consulting as managing directors. “With Huron’s deep consulting expertise, we will be better able to serve our clients as they look to us to analyze data, identify problems and provide solutions to improve patient care,” MyRounding CEO Gorski said.

MyRounding won the top prize of $25,000 in a 2014 startup competition held by Prime Health Collaborative.
