StartUp Health Academy adds medical documentation, community care coordination to health tech investments

StartUp Health and GE Ventures have added three more healthcare startups to StartUp Health Academy and are on the hunt for seven more this year.

They’ve revealed a handful of picks spanning data analytics for cardiovascular patients to a medical documentation app developer. Each received a $50,000 investment and will take part in the StartUp Health Academy —a program to help advance the company towards commercialization.

Biome Analytics  Stuart Jacobson founded the company six years ago and serves as CEO. The company aggregates data and builds applications designed to help doctors treat Americans diagnosed with heart cardiovascular disease at the lowest cost.

WinguMD   Manabu Tokunaga founded the early stage digital health company has developed a medical documentation app for physicians called BodyMapSnap. It collects metadata from images that makes use of body location and tagging tools. The goal is to help physicians share and discuss images safely and securely. Here’s how it works. First the user takes a photo. It automatically records a time and date. The user tags the body location and annotates it. The app automatically uploads the image to BodyMapSnap’s HIPAA compliant server and Box. It’s designed to work with TigerText and grants access to Doximity members.
