‘Dilbert’ mocks Fitbit addicts

There’s still plenty of reason to make fun of consumer wearables.

A couple of weeks ago, when Fitbit brought its roadshow through Chicago, we were all over the idea that wearable fitness trackers really can be used in healthcare and to promote population health. But there’s still plenty of reason to make fun of consumer wearables.

Monday, the inimitable Scott Adams did so in his “Dilbert” comic.

So now people are running late for work while trying to get their 10,000 steps for the day? Brilliant! It recalls Stephen Colbert’s even-more-brilliant takedown of Fitbit on the dearly departed “Colbert Report”: “Last week, I wanted to run a marathon, so I strapped this bad boy to a paint shaker for about 20 minutes.”
