Today’s the final day to suggest who should win MedCityNews.com’s first awards honoring innovation in healthcare. Nominations for “The Cities” are due Monday.

The Cities will honor innovation, entrepreneurship and achievement from America’s elite medical cities. The medical industry has so many Silicon Valleys: places like Research Triangle Park, Boston, Philadelphia, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Cleveland and beyond. It’s easy for some of healthcare’s greatest contributors to go unnoticed. So The Cities will recognize local superstars as the national innovators they are to our nationwide audience of healthcare stakeholders.

Cleveland is the first city to be honored (the dates of other awards in Minnesota and North Carolina will be announced later this year).

Tell us who we should honor in these five categories:

The Disruptor: For a company that made a major breakthrough in the last 12 months.

Healthcare Ally: To a service provider that demonstrated extraordinary service to healthcare.

Medical Mayor: Our person of the year award recognizing someone’s insight, vision and contribution to healthcare.

presented by

Startup of the Year: For a three-year-old (or younger) medical company with a unique solution that has shown through a major accomplishment its high-impact potential to medicine.

The Paragon: An organization, company or institution that demonstrates national or global excellence.

Staff at MedCityNews.com will select the winners.

Winners will be honored Aug. 18 at our annual summer networking event. Winners will receive their awards from a representative of  The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Minnesota and North Carolina will be honored sometime in the course of the next year.

Thank you for helping us honor the best in healthcare.
