ThyroScore is seeking to reduce the misdiagnosis of thyroid disorders and has debuted on the crowdfunding website Indiegogo today. It’s developed a direct-to-lab testing kit as part of an initiative that includes Siemens and Holomic. The goal is to build a database of de-identified test results for medical research.
The idea behind the company, a subsidiary of ThyroMetrix, is to produce more accurate diagnoses of thyroid disorders. Among the symptoms of the disorder are fatigue, weight changes, memory loss and depression. ThyroScore’s blood test kit measures the level of thyroid stimulating hormone in the blood.

ThyroScore Health Kit users place a drop of blood on a testing card. A mobile microanalysis tool from Holomic is used to scan test cards to produce immediate test scores that would be sent to CLIA-certified labs for analysis. Holomic was a finalist in the Nokia Sensing XCHALLENGE.
Participants would receive their results online, and share them with a physician for diagnosis and treatment.
