A health IT company that previously provided migraine patient data to pharmaceutical companies, Ubiqi Health, has relaunched as Klio Health. The new business, which CEO Jacqueline Thong started earlier this year,  aggregates data from patients with chronic conditions with the goal of assessing effectiveness of treatment between visits through a portal.

Thong spoke with MedCity News about her company at the Connected Health Symposium in Boston this week. It was one of a handful of businesses in the Startup Expo section of the exhibition hall.

The idea is to provide a quick reference for physicians to make appointments more meaningful and to help doctors determine whether a prescribed medication or lifestyle change is effective. For example, rheumatoid arthritis patients will enter information such as level of pain and whether they have taken their medication day to day. They would also provide info on symptoms.
