Pennsylvania-based MD Aligne, which offers telemedicine visits via smart phone or computer, has raised $400,000 on a $1 million equity and security offerings, according to a filing with the SEC.
Started in 2004, MD Aligne is headed by CEO Howard Seidman. It offers telephone and online doctor consultations, medical advice and diagnoses, prescriptions and testing from U.S.-based licensed physicians to treat non-emergency conditions.
Since it’s founding, it has provided more than a million telephone and online doctor consultations, and last year, it’s HIPAA-compliant network serviced over 200,000 encounters.
MD Aligne says it’s consultations run about $95 to $150, compared to an average of $300 for a typical doctor visit and pharmacy prescriptions.
Another $600,000 remains to be raised, according to the Form D.
