The field of neuroscience has never been hotter from a business perspective – while today may be the day of cancer drug development, the near future‘s going to be all about treating conditions of the brain.

Atlanta-based accelerator Neurolaunch is focused exclusively on building startups in the neuroscience arena. It’s holding an investor demo day today today, in which its 2014 cohort will be presenting at the Atlanta Tech Village.

The program, which lasts 90 days, is focused on areas like neuro-gaming, neuroplasticity, brain-computer interfacing, neuroinformatics, neuroimaging, and neural network computing like machine learning and artificial intelligence.

On top of the $20,000 to $100,000 in seed capital for accepted startups, Neurolaunch says it offers subject matter expertise and dozens of mentors – as well as help in launching the business. The companies accepted in the program will have to relocate to Atlanta.

The accelerator calls for 2 to 7 percent equity, depending on the stage of venture investment. It encourages startups to apply regardless of whether they need the capital, however.

“Teams will be evaluated based on focus area, core team member background, core team track records, life cycle stage of the company, personal interviews and value proposition,” Neurolaunch says.

Startups can apply here. Admissions for this summer’s cohort are rolling.
