Fresh from deals with strategic partners Xerox and Rite Aid, telemedicine kiosk provider HealthSpot is expected to detail a new round of funding of more than $11 million from four investors soon, according to a Form D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Although MedCity News has learned the financing round includes a strategic partner, it could not confirm whether it is with a new strategic partner or simply follow-on funding from an established partner.

In November, HealthSpot inked a strategic partnership deal with Xerox in which it became the telemedicine company’s business process services provider for cloud hosting, system integration, claims eligibility and claims submissions solutions. The agreement gives HealthSpot’s kiosks access to Xerox’s IT infrastructure for appointment booking and as an interface for electronic health records and insurance coordination.

Its deal with Rite Aid provides HealthSpot kiosks to the drugstore’s Ohio locations. National drugstore chains such as Walgreens and CVS are gradually integrating telemedicine to support their on site health clinics.

HealthSpot’s kiosks include a bunch of connected devices such as a thermometer, stethoscope, otoscope, and dermascope that a physician on a video screen directs patients to use. The data is transmitted to their computer where they can give patients an assessment of their condition. It sources board-certified doctors from physician practices and hospitals.
