Interoperability Across Organizational Boundaries Improves Patient Care and Quality

Eagle Physicians & Associates is a multispecialty health care practice offering excellence in patient care through eight different medical disciplines, as well as a walk-in clinic. With 61 physicians across 11 locations, the practice is one of North Carolina’s most recognized healthcare providers. Eagle Physicians & Associates is built on an exceptional reputation for providing quality care to patients at every stage, resulting in extremely high satisfaction ratings. After partnering with Cone Health, Eagle Physicians & Associates turned to eClinicalWorks, a leader in healthcare IT solutions, for a way to exchange patient data and move towards interoperability in order to continue improving the quality of patient care.

With the implementation of eClinicalWorks Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, Eagle Physicians & Associates was able to achieve bidirectional exchange of patient’s clinical data across medical practices and partnering hospitals, allowing for better communication and accurate patient records. This supported the organization’s patient-centered, preventative care approach by providing physicians and patients access to critical information at the point of care.

Eagle Physicians & Associates found that the implementation of eClinicalWorks’ EHR system resulted in an improved system to deliver patient care. Immediate access to patient records streamlined the transition process for patient and physician – especially patients requiring multiple physicians and specialists between organizations. Additionally, physicians were able to find missing lab results and send out queries to three hospital systems allowing access to additional patient data.
