CONCORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — University Hospitals doctors and other medical professionals began seeing patients at their new Concord Health Center on Monday.
The outpatient health center is the third building project completed under University Hospitals’ aggressive $1.2 billion Vision 2010 strategic plan, which includes the future UH Cancer Hospital and Center for Emergency Medicine, both at UH Case Medical Center, as well as a new hospital in Beachwood, the UH Ahuja Medical Center in Cleveland.
Already completed are the health system’s Twinsburg Health Center and neonatal intensive care unit at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland.

The 61,000-square-foot outpatient health center at 7500 Auburn Road in Concord sits on a large parcel of land near Interstate 90 and state Route 44. Primary and specialty care services there include cardiovascular medicine, internal medicine, endocrinology, family medicine, laboratory, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics/spine, pediatrics, radiology, rheumatology, urology and vascular surgery. The center also has an urgent care center.
“One of the more unique aspects of this new health center is that the services offered will be closely aligned with the services at our community hospital in Geauga — the University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center,” Richard Frenchie, president of UH Geauga Medical Center, said in a written statement. “The collaboration between the two facilities will help us to further enhance patient care in Lake and Geauga Counties.”
University Hospitals plans to hold a grand opening and community open house at the center from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14. The health system expects to offer free health screenings, including blood pressure, blood sugar, blood type, body mass index, heel bone density and cholesterol, at the open house. Visitors also will be able to tour the facility.
