CLEVELAND, Ohio — MedCity News will provide its coverage to The Akron Beacon Journal as part of a syndication agreement between the two organizations.
It is the second syndication pact announced this week. Cleveland’s WKYC-TV has also agreed to syndicate content from MedCity News, a next-generation news service that covers the business of health care in major “medical cities” and their states, including Cleveland and Ohio.

“The Akron Beacon Journal has been a standard-bearer for journalistic excellence since 1839 and we’re honored they’ve selected us to help continue that tradition,” said Chris Seper, co-founder of MedCity News. “It’s further evidence that collaboration between trusted news organizations is key to thriving in the new-media era.”
“We are pleased to work with MedCity News as they seek a wider audience for their content,” said Bruce Winges, Beacon Journal editor and vice president. “Having MedCity stories about the Cleveland health community available to our print and online readers is a positive move for us and them.”
Seper said: “Adding WKYC and the Akron Beacon Journal demonstrate our value on air and in print as well as online. We will continue to add syndication partners in new markets and plan to expand into new medical cities to replicate our fully-validated business model.”
