Akron General Development Foundation, which is charged with rounding up gifts and donations for the health system, has named a former PNC bank executive as its new president.
Karen Bozzelli, who holds a law degree and most recently was a senior vice president in the bank’s wealth management group, began her new role earlier this month, according to a statement from Akron General Health System.

Akron General praised Bozzelli for her ability to “develop, grow and retain relationships,” and her history of nonprofit fund development and community fundraising.
“My goal is to grow the foundation, using the relationships I’ve established over the years in this community and gain the support of the community again,” said Bozzelli, a Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, resident.
