Medical data management company Explorys Inc. has added a Cleveland Clinic information technology executive as its chief medical officer.
Dr. Anil Jain will join Cleveland-based Explorys and also continue in his post at Cleveland Clinic where he holds the titles of senior information technology executive and managing director of e-research.
With Explorys, Jain will be responsible for setting strategies related to clinical research, comparative effectiveness, meaningful use, epidemiology and pharmacovigilance, according to a statement from the company.
Reducing Clinical and Staff Burnout with AI Automation
As technology advances, AI-powered tools will increasingly reduce the administrative burdens on healthcare providers.
Founded in 2009, Explorys provides data services that enable healthcare companies and providers to improve treatment, and accelerate research and product development at the same time they measure performance and drug safety.
Explorys’ technology is based on a system called MyResearch that Jain piloted at the Cleveland Clinic, which is an equity investor in the company.
The company recently added three Northeast Ohio hospital systems to its emerging member network — MetroHealth System and University Hospitals in Cleveland, and Summa Health System in Akron. Cleveland Clinic was its inaugural member.
Explorys has curated more than one billion clinical records from participating healthcare providers in a privacy-protected and HIPAA-compliant platform for high-speed search and analytics.
