A Cleveland-area health IT startup that aims to connect seniors with home healthcare providers has received a $100,000 loan from Cuyahoga County.
BestHomeHealthCare.com received a deferred, 5 percent interest loan through the county’s North Coast Opportunities Technology Fund.
The company’s mission is to connect families in need of home healthcare to a wide range of providers — nurses, housekeepers, hospice companies and home remodelers who specialize in making homes senior-friendly. The site is free for registered users who can browse provider listings by zip code and post “care requests” in which they list the health services they’re looking for, how much they’re willing to pay and other relevant information. The site charges providers a fee to post listings.
With the Rise of AI, What IP Disputes in Healthcare Are Likely to Emerge?
Munck Wilson Mandala Partner Greg Howison shared his perspective on some of the legal ramifications around AI, IP, connected devices and the data they generate, in response to emailed questions.
BestHomeHealthCare.com has also developed a social media platform called Care-n-Share, which allows a patient or a family member to set up an online portal to communicate with family and friends, raise money for medical bills or charities and find people willing to lend a hand, Crain’s Cleveland Business reported.
The company hopes that providers will sponsor Care-n-Share communities for free in return for the marketing and referrals that the communities could provide.
