Last word from #HIMSS12: The cool booths of HIMSS (video)

Exhibitors at the HIMSS health IT conference in Las Vegas last week showed lots of creativity and spared few expenses as they created booths designed to catch attendees’ eyes.

Every exhibitors’ objective at a trade show is the same – draw in visitors, engage them in conversations, and at some point, convert some of those conversations into sales.

From a purely visual standpoint, some booths stood out above the others in terms of the first part of that equation – catching attendees’ attention and drawing them into booths.

Every exhibitors’ objective at a trade show is the same: to draw in visitors, engage them in conversations, and at some point, convert some of those conversations into sales.

From a purely visual standpoint, some booths stood out above the others in terms of the first part of that equation — catching attendees’ attention and drawing them into booths. And they went way beyond the old standbys (free food and an open bar) to do it.

Health IT giant Siemens showed its strength with a two-story panel of LED video screens that drew visitors into spacious surroundings with meeting and lecture spaces.

Merge Healthcare played on a racing theme with an eye-catching bright orange car, coupled with a wall stocked with probably hundreds of pounds of candy. The youthful feel was extended by a mini-arcade that featured three racing games.

RelayHealth offered one of the most visually striking booths and invited visitors in with a wall mounted with 56 iPads displaying videos. Part of the booth had a nightclub-like feel, with three circular meeting rooms surrounded by long ropes that hung from the ceiling to give privacy and allow only obscured views of the goings-on inside.

Cleveland-area Hyland Software brought a sports bar to the trade show floor and employed a baseball theme to go with its OnBase product. With its faux-brick facade and large, oval-shaped wooden bar, Hyland’s exhibit sought to ensconce convention-goers in relaxed, familiar surroundings. (Yes, Hyland was our sponsor for this event, but watch the video below and you’ll see why the booth made this list.)
