Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona) said it is all but impossible for Republicans to defund Obamacare. Despite Republican cries to defund healthcare reform, McCain said Republicans have no way of getting the 67 necessary votes.
“In the United States Senate, we will not repeal or defund Obamacare. We will not,” McCain said on CNN‘s The Lead with Jake Tapper last night. “And to think that we can is not rational.”

“I do note with some interest that all or most of the people who are doing this are new and do not have the experience that we had when the American people, who don’t like government but don’t want it to be shut down, reacted in a very negative fashion towards Congress for doing so.” This one seemed aimed for Sen. “I’m absolutely sure there are ways we can force votes on Obamacare from time to time. The American people are not in support of it and no one fought harder against it than I did, but to somehow think we are going to defund it–it’s simply not going to happen at this time. And it will, in my opinion, as it did before, harm the American people’s view of the Republican party.”
