Tami Case of the The City of Hope cancer center in California has some advice about what should and should not be on your shopping list.
The City of Hope is a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. It is a new model of cancer center, focused on quickly transforming scientific discoveries into better treatment and better prevention.
Case is the City of Hope’s pediatrics business director. She shared this advice about what to buy and what not to buy. Avoid these things:

What’s the best present? Case recommends giving gift cards from gas stations, Target, Walmart, grocery stores, Toys “R” Us and iTunes.
