Have your say in the best discussion yet of crowdfunding in healthcare

To say healthcare will soon figure out crowdfunding would suggest we’ve even pinpointed all the questions. We all know the big one: Can crowdfunding consistently deliver the money medical devices and drugs need to make it a key part of healthcare investing? (Answer: We’re trying to make it that way). So why not turn discussions of crowdfunding in healthcare over to the crowd?

To say healthcare will soon figure out crowdfunding would suggest we’ve even pinpointed all the questions. We all know the big one: Can crowdfunding consistently deliver the money medical devices and drugs need to make it a key part of healthcare investing? (Answer: We’re trying to make it that way.)

But every week goes by and healthcare finds new questions (and answers). For example, is there a value beyond dollars in healthcare crowdfunding? The answer, it seems, is yes.

So why not turn discussions of crowdfunding in healthcare over to the crowd?

MedCity will host the most thorough discussion of crowdfunding yet when we have a special two-hour discussion in real time and online. On April 23, we’ll examine crowdfunding and the JOBS Act in Healthcare at both the MidAmerica Healthcare Venture Forum in Chicago and also through a live broadcast on MedCityNews.com.

You can register now for the online broadcast or, if you’d prefer, show up in person at the MidAmerica Healthcare Venture Forum, April 22-23, Chicago (the early-bird rate is still available).

We want to take a look at crowdfunding from all sides, so we’ve pulled in some of the leaders organizing some of the best approaches in crowdfunding. But we will also talk with a startup that’s been through the process and a researcher who’s been following the phenomenon. The speakers are:

Each speaker will spend 20 minutes in a one-on-one conversation with a member of either MedCity News or Crowdfund Insider. Then, the four will get together for a panel discussion to debate the issues.

All the while, these speakers will take your questions both in the one-on-ones and panel discussions – whether you’re attending the MidAmerica Healthcare Venture Forum or watching the discussion through our MedCity News Google Hangout. All you’ll need to view it is any device on which you can normally watch YouTube videos.

MidAmerica Healthcare Venture Forum, to be held April 22-23 in Chicago, is the premier healthcare investing conference, uniting active investors with corporate business development executives to facilitate investment opportunities with promising Mid-America based startups. Over 300 innovative thought leaders, prominent industry players, venture capitalists and angel investors will attend. Either in person or online, we hope you join us to explore one of the most intriguing opportunities in healthcare investing.
