MedReps.com surveyed 1,400 members of the site’s community, who currently work or recently worked in medical sales, to determine which companies are the best to work for overall.
- Best medical device company: Medtronic. Stryker and Johnson & Johnson ranked second and third.
- Best pharma company: Johnson & Johnson. Pfizer and Eli Lilly ranked second and third.
- Best biotech company: Amgen. Gilead and Allergen ranked second and third.
The survey also revealed that despite the fact that the highest ranked companies are large in size, 44 percent of participants prefer medium-sized companies and 11 percent prefer smaller organizations.
In addition to that, the quality of the product matters to people. Of the people surveyed, 58 percent want to know that the product is something the market actually needs. Competitive compensation and work-life balance also ranked high on the list of needs for employees.
“Although everyone can’t land Medtronic, Stryker, or Johnson & Johnson jobs, there are plenty of other medical companies with solid product lines that offer competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits,” said Robyn Melhuish, Communications Manager at MedReps.com. “Medical sales jobs can be found at companies of all types and sizes, and the best medical sales reps have an abundance of opportunities available to them.”
