CVS Health adds clinical affiliations, ResearchKit is applied to LGBTQ health concerns (Morning Read)

CVS Health entered into four new clinical affiliations to increase better healthcare for patients, an app using ResearchKit will support a study of health issues relevant to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer community.

CVS Health has added clinical affiliations with Sutter Health, Millennium Physician Group, Bryan Health Connect and Mount Kisco Medical Group. It will provide prescription and visit information to the participating health care organizations.

THREAD Research developed an iPhone app using Apple’s ResearchKit framework to support a study of health issues relevant to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer community. The University of California San Francisco Pride Study will use the data collected from the apps to design longitudinal questionnaires, which will be added to the app in six to nine months.
