With the Rise of AI, What IP Disputes in Healthcare Are Likely to Emerge?

As the leaves begin to change color, the days get shorter and the nights cool down, it can only mean one thing: it’s time to begin submitting your entries to MedCity’s largest startup pitch competition!
Unlike most pitching events, the INVEST Pitch Perfect competition has tracks that span health IT and life science sectors, including biopharma, diagnostics, and medical devices. The contest will be held during the annual MedCity INVEST conference in Chicago at the Ritz Carlton, April 21-22, 2020.
To qualify, companies must fulfill one of these requirements:
- Raised at least $1 million;
- Raised a Series A round;
- Have at least one qualified institutional investor or strategic investor that you can identify
A Personalized Approach to Medication Nonadherence
At the Abarca Forward conference earlier this year, George Van Antwerp, managing director at Deloitte, discussed how social determinants of health and a personalized member experience can improve medication adherence and health outcomes.
Companies should also be looking for additional funding in the next 12 months. When completing the 2-page executive summary, please describe clearly the unmet need in the marketplace your company seeks to address, what your value proposition is and how your product works in terms of the science behind it. If you have results of a pilot or other examples of clinical validation, please include it. We are also interested in your go-to-market strategy.
This will help investors screen your application based on the following criteria:
- Business Idea
- Market Opportunity
- Revenue Model
- Founder’s Experience
Many of the companies that have made it to the finals can attest to the value of this event. In many cases, it has helped companies connect with compatible investors and collaboration partners, helping them reach critical milestones in the development of their businesses. For investors, it can help them identify entrepreneurs that should be on their radar.
