MedCity News launches dedicated podcast to cover monumental transformation in healthcare

With MedCity Pivot, we hope to highlight the rapid transformation that healthcare is undergoing, and put a spotlight on the companies and the people charting a path towards a more equitable, efficient and people-centric healthcare system.

I am delighted to bring our readers a different way to consume compelling healthcare content in these troubled times. For the last 10 years, you’ve read our stories, come to our conferences and occasionally listened to some sporadic podcasts and video content.

Today, MedCity News is launching a dedicated podcast to provide another way to fulfill our editorial mission as a healthcare media organization. We are calling it MedCity Pivot. Why now? The pandemic is forcing us to do a 180 in many things in our personal lives and the same is true of virtually everything in the world of healthcare. We were plodding along a slow path of healthcare transformation when a pandemic came to shake us out of our collective stupor and smug satisfaction. It makes now an ideal time to chart out the parameters of that massive pivot that will occur in healthcare over the next few days, weeks, months and years. Through each episode, the editorial team at MedCity News will highlight the strategies, the companies and the personalities spearheading this monumental transformation.

In our first episode, we talk to Andy Ellner, CEO of Firefly Health, a Boston-based startup whose goal is to radically alter how people experience primary care and how providers deliver it. Hope you enjoy it. And of course, send me a note at [email protected] if you have suggestions for a great MedCity Pivot guest.
