Osso VR, a virtual reality startup to support medical training, has closed a $27 million Series B round. Recent partnerships with medical device companies include Johnson & Johnson, Stryker and Smith & Nephew.  GSR Ventures led the round with participation from SignalFire, Kaiser Permanente Ventures and Anorak Ventures, among others. Raven Biomaterials received investment from Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania to support the development, test, and prep for manufacturing magnetic beads to separate biological components out of blood. The company’s first application seeks to improve cell therapeutic manufacturing for cancer treatment, increasing the yield of targeted cell material at a significantly lower cost than current methods. Other applications in development include patient monitoring, gene therapy, antibody production, blood banking, vaccine manufacturing, and scientific research. To read more, click here.
