Electronic Health Records (EHR) company Epic landed first place for the twelfth year in a row as having the best overall software suite, according to a new report ranking health IT companies. The 2022 Best in KLAS report, published by KLAS showed that Epic beat out competitors Allscripts, Cerner, CPSI, and Meditech, according to the KLAS report. The overall software award looked at vendors that offered a comprehensive IT system for both a clinical and financials. Epic outperformed competitions in terms of acute care EMR, cardiology, and patient portals, among others.
Meditech came in second and Cerner snagged third place.

Further, Epic received first place again in the physician practice vendor ranking category, beating out athenahealth and NextGen Healthcare, which received second and third place respectively.
In total, Epic took home nine additional Best in KLAS awards for other market segments.
In the overall IT services category, Nordic nabbed first place largely due to its handling of outsourcing IT work as well as its implementation of its healthcare IT (HIT) leadership compared to the competition. Pivot Point Consulting came in second due to its strong partial outsourcing of IT. And Experis Health and Impact Advisors tied for third, neither of which performed as strongly for outsourcing some of its IT.
Using Data to Help Healthcare Practices Succeed

Nordic also took home top marks in revenue cycle optimization.
The report awarded Galen Healthcare Solutions first place as the best overall implementation services firm, beating out Health Data Movers for the spot. Further, Galen also snagged first for HIT staffing and clinical optimization, according to the report.
And some groups won for a second year in a row. For example, The Chartis Group was ranked the best overall healthcare management consulting firm for the second time in as many years. The Chartis Group took home top rankings in two other categories as well: financial improvement consulting and HIT advisory services.
Further, Infor’s customer satisfaction with its resource planning software grew by 23% from last year, according to the report. The report attributes this improvement to increased communication between the company and customers.
In addition, the report labeled Greenway Health as the most improved physician practice product this year. Many customers cited increased executive involvement for addressing issues and resolving them quickly as the reason for such a high regard this year.
In additional to the best overall healthcare management consulting firm, Chartis won three top rankings in financial improvement consulting, HIT advisory services, and digital transformation consulting.
