Improving the financial experience in healthcare

At the INVEST Digital Health conference, scheduled for Wednesday, September 28, in Dallas and presented in collaboration with Health Wildcatters, healthcare experts will address a wide range of topics in the context of how employers are addressing healthcare needs of their workforce.

Consolidation among hospitals and health systems has contributed to higher healthcare costs. Many healthcare vendors contend that making greater use of telehealth, forging innovative partnerships with employers and collaborating with payers and providers can make these healthcare costs more manageable, particularly for self-insured employers.

At the upcoming INVEST Digital Health conference, scheduled for Wednesday, September 28, in Dallas and presented in collaboration with Health Wildcatters, healthcare experts will address a wide range of topics in the context of how self-insured employers are navigating health benefits. The conference will explore how employers are helping employees manage costs, how they’re addressing healthcare concerns in the workplace, and the consumerization of healthcare, among other topics.

One of the panel discussions will focus on improving the financial experience in healthcare. Here’s a description and some of the speakers taking part:

Patient and consumer satisfaction isn’t only about better outcomes. It’s very much about the financial journey they have to endure. Whether it be prescription costs, costs for a hospital stay, or financial toxicity that can lead to medical bankruptcies, there’s a lot to be said about the financial experience in healthcare. How do we ensure that people don’t have to endure greater financial burdens while tackling troubling illnesses or chronic conditions?

Alex Oshmyansky, MD, PhD, CEO, Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company, PBC

There will also be a startup pitch contest highlighting entrepreneurs focused on employee benefits:
