Heard at HLTH 2024 Part 2: Insights from Innovative Healthcare Executives

Hear executives from Quantum Health, Surescripts, EY, Clinical Architecture and Personify Health share their views on digital transformation in healthcare.

At the HLTH conference in Las Vegas, MedCity News Editor-in-Chief Arundhati Parmar and Reporter Marissa Plescia interviewed executives who offered their insights on the shifting healthcare landscape. Their technologies span a variety of applications to help employers manage healthcare costs, automate time-consuming manual tasks to support providers, and improve access to care.

Quantum Health CEO Zane Burke explained how the company’s pharmacy navigation solutions support employers in the specialty drug category, such as managing spend for GLP-1 drugs.

Surescripts CEO Frank Harvey discussed the role machine learning and other forms of AI play in its health tech, particularly how it’s being used to improve prior authorization, using a recent pilot with Cleveland Clinic and Optum as an example. He also talked about TPG’s recent move to take a minority stake in the business and why Surescripts made the deal with the private equity company.

EY Health Sector Leader for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Christian Egle talked about the challenges Europe faces such as escalating healthcare costs, physician and nurse shortages and long wait times. He also shared optimism that digital health could address some of these issues.

Clinical Architecture CEO Charlie Harp explained the company’s approach to normalizing data for providers to help them leverage technology solutions spanning patient engagement to clinical trial awareness, and avoid potentially life-threatening errors.

Personify Health Jeff Jacques Chief Medical Officer spoke about its highly engaging health benefit navigation platform for employers and their staff. Jacques said the company’s personalized navigation software typically engages 50% or more with clients and their employees. Healthcare fraud, abuse and waste cost companies millions. To mitigate these risks, Personify helps employers with payment integrity, using AI tools to search through claims data to identify areas where fraud potentially took place. Jacques also shared how the company supports employers as they navigate the cost of GLP-1 drugs.
