Tia Teams Up with Nourish to Provide Nutrition Support to Women

Through a partnership with Nourish, Tia’s members will have access to virtual personalized nutrition guidance that can address a range of needs, such as hormonal balance, fertility, chronic disease management and weight management.

Tia, a women’s health company, is partnering with food-as-medicine platform Nourish to offer women food and nutrition support, the companies announced Thursday.

San Francisco-based Tia offers in-person and virtual support for women. Its services include gynecology, primary care, mental health and wellness support. By partnering with New York City-based Nourish, Tia’s members will have access to virtual personalized nutrition guidance that can address a range of needs, such as hormonal balance, fertility, chronic disease management and weight management.

With Nourish, patients are matched with a registered dietitian who creates a tailored plan that may include coaching, recommendations and progress tracking. About 94% of Nourish patients have no out-of-pocket costs, according to the announcement.

“Nutrition has always been a cornerstone of Tia’s care model with a deep understanding of the role food and diet plays in our health,” said Jessica Horwitz, chief clinical officer of Tia, in an email. “While we bring this lens into all of the care we provide, we wanted to ensure we had a clinically sound partner for patients who would benefit from a personalized and deeper level of nutrition expertise — provided by registered dieticians. Nourish was a clear leader in terms of their ability to provide high quality nutrition support, all delivered by registered dieticians and covered by insurance — making them an ideal partner.”

In addition to Nourish’s services being integrated into Tia’s model, Nourish patients can also be referred to Tia for primary care support. However, they’d have to be in a state where Tia operates. The company is in Arizona, New York and California, while Nourish operates in all 50 states.

Nutrition is vital in women’s health as poor nutrition can affect gynecologic issues like polycystic ovary syndrome, infertility and menopause. That’s what Nourish hopes to address in this partnership.

“Many conditions that disproportionately impact women — such as PCOS, hormonal imbalances, gut health issues, and metabolic conditions — can be significantly improved with nutrition intervention,” said Aidan Dewar, co-founder and CEO of Nourish, in an email. “By integrating Nourish’s services into Tia’s model, we aim to empower more women with the tools, education, and expert support they need to improve their health outcomes.”

This isn’t Nourish’s first partnership with a women’s health company. In December, it teamed up with women’s telehealth company Wisp to support patients taking GLP-1s.

Several other companies have also launched programs and partnerships to support women’s health. In July, Northwell Health announced it is working with Instacart to support expectant mothers. FarmboxRx, meanwhile, launched a maternal health program last year that sends members a food box and educational content to help them during their pregnancy.
