Dreem Health, a digital sleep clinic, launched partnerships with Moona Health, DrLullaby and Daybreak on Tuesday to tackle issues like insomnia and oral health conditions.

New York City-based Dreem Health is managed by The Sunrise Group, a sleep technology company. Dreem Health connects patients with sleep specialists and provides diagnoses and at-home treatments, such as Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) therapy for sleep apnea. It’s covered by all major insurers in most states, including Medicare.

With the new partnerships, patients start with an evaluation by a Dreem Health sleep practitioner and a home sleep test if appropriate. After that, patients have a follow-up appointment to go over results and are given a treatment plan. If the provider identifies insomnia without signs of sleep apnea, Dreem Health refers the patient to DrLullaby and Moona Health for cognitive behavioral therapy. This kind of therapy helps patients get rid of the negative thoughts that keep them awake and develop good sleep habits.

If the provider identifies sleep apnea without insomnia, patients are screened for oral health conditions like bruxism (teeth grinding) and jaw misalignment. If considered appropriate, they are connected with Daybreak for custom oral appliance therapy. Daybreak offers an FDA-cleared device that fits like a retainer and moves the lower jaw forward to open the airway and relieve snoring and sleep apnea.

“These partnerships enable Dreem Health to expand rapidly beyond sleep apnea diagnosis and treatment into a comprehensive, integrated care model, ensuring that every patient with a sleep concern has a clear and timely path to effective care,” said Laurent Martinot, CEO and co-founder of Dreem Health, in an email. “Doing this with partnerships versus creating the capabilities ourselves allows us to implement the offerings faster and more efficiently, and ensures we have the right expertise on board to ensure the best care for our patients.”

Currently, about 30 million adults in the U.S. battle sleep apnea, and another 30 million have chronic insomnia. Sleep apnea can also lead to dental problems, such as bruxism or dry mouth, and insomnia can lead to obesity, diabetes and depression.

By partnering with Moona Health, DrLullaby and Daybreak, Dreem Health has three key goals, according to Martinot. It aims to be the “trusted entry point for sleep care” and provide “end-to-end treatment” for sleep conditions.

It also hopes to expand and personalize treatment options.

“By complementing our in-house PAP treatment for sleep apnea with [cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia] and oral appliances, we can tailor treatments — or even combine therapies such as PAP and insomnia care — to deliver the most effective outcomes for every patient,” Martinot said.

Other companies that treat sleep disorders include Onera Health and HoneyNaps.
