At the HLTH 2025 conference, healthcare executives shared how their companies perceive the shifting healthcare landscape and how their health tech tools are making workflows smoother and faster through automation and data aggregation.

Clever Care Health Plan CEO Karen Walker Johnson talked about how her career has informed her approach to Medicare beneficiaries, culturally competent care, and how her company’s approach to benefits design marry eastern and western medicine such as acupuncture and have worked to ensure providers speak the languages of its members.

Smarter Technologies President Michael Gao discussed how the company is unlocking new capabilities and reducing friction for providers. Pieces Technologies CEO Dr. Ruben Amarasingham discussed the acquisition strategy behind the Smarter Technologies deal.

HealthSnap Chief Revenue Officer Brad Blakey offered details of how it’s working with collaboration partners Sentara Health and University Hospitals to identify and assess patients for certain programs.

Ambience Health CEO and Co-founder Nikhil Buduma noted how Ambience works with hospitals, health systems, and ACOs to support clinical workflows through EHRs. He pointed out that different physicians have different workflows and explained that Ambience’s collaboration approach is geared to customizing the clinical experience. He also highlighted its work with academic medical centers, particularly Cleveland Clinic.

Imagine360 President and CEO Jeff Bak acknowledged the soaring price hikes in the health insurance sector. He talked about a couple of program offerings to provide more choices to self-insured employers, as well as a new pharmacy benefit program.

Verily Associate Chief Clinical Officer Carolyn Jasik called attention to a direct-to-consumer telemedicine app to connect consumers to licensed physicians. The service also enables the company to aggregate the user’s medical records to provide the most informed medical advice to the users. Additionally, Jasik discussed Violet, the company’s AI health query tool for consumers.
