HealthTap and Samsung Health announced a partnership on Tuesday that will make it easier for people to access virtual primary care through the Samsung Health app.
Samsung Health is a health and fitness app through the electronic device company Samsung. It tracks various elements of wellbeing, including sleep, exercise and nutrition. It has 7 million active users in the U.S. on Android devices. Through the new partnership, HealthTap’s virtual primary and urgent care support will be embedded into the app. Users will be able to complete an intake survey and book virtual visits with a HealthTap doctor.
After the visit, they’ll be able to review the clinician’s notes and see follow-up instructions directly on the Samsung Health app. Users can choose to pay with insurance, or pay $79 per visit, which is lower than HealthTap’s typical $129.

The partnership is HealthTap’s first in-app experience on a third-party consumer platform.
“This collaboration marks a major step toward making primary care the central hub of people’s digital health experience,” said Sean Mehra, HealthTap CEO and co-founder, in an email. “By embedding HealthTap within Samsung Health, consumers can now connect the dots between their daily health data — like sleep, activity, and vitals — and their medical care. It transforms care from a one-off event into a continuous relationship, enabling proactive and preventive engagement.”
Samsung echoed these comments.
“We believe easy access to care is foundational – be it doctor’s visits or price transparency for medications. Consumers are asking us for actionable information at the right time to support their health journey,” said Dr. Ricky Choi, U.S. head of digital health at Samsung Electronics America, in a statement. “By making available telehealth services into the Samsung Health experience, we are making care actionable, enabling users to move from wellness to clinical care and back in a trusted environment.”

Mehra added that this is “just the beginning” in the partnership between Samsung Health and HealthTap.
“As Samsung Health continues to expand its ecosystem of devices and partners, HealthTap will serve as the physician companion that helps interpret data, close the loop on care, and guide people toward healthier lives,” he said. “Our shared vision is to make trusted primary care available at everyone’s fingertips—affordable, continuous, and deeply connected to their everyday health.”
This announcement comes shortly after HealthTap launched another collaboration with LillyDirect, Eli Lilly’s digital health platform. Through this partnership, patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes can access a HealthTap primary care clinician virtually through the LillyDirect platform.
There are several other companies that also provide virtual primary care, including Teladoc, MD Live and Carbon Health.
