Cancer care company Color Health is partnering with insurer Evry Health to enhance employer health plans with its cancer care services, according to a Wednesday announcement.

Evry Health is a Texas-based insurer serving fully insured employers with 51 or more employees. Its plans have no traditional cost-sharing, including no co-pays and no deductibles, and provide a care team of nurses, physicians, nutritionists and behavioral health providers.

Through the partnership with Color Health, Evry Health members can now access Color’s virtual cancer clinic, which includes services like screening, diagnosis support, in-treatment care and clinical survivorship experts. Color Health will work with the health plan to identify members eligible for care, engage them in screening and support them through next steps through 24/7 clinical resources.

“Color is looking to expand and scale to reach more patients, improving cancer care through accessibility, convenience, and early action,” said Caroline Savello, president of Color Health, in an email. “Through this partnership, we’re aiming to enable members to better understand their cancer risk, provide easy access to guideline based screenings, close care gaps, direct members to in-network sites of care, and reduce the number of late-stage cancer diagnoses within the member population.”

Evry Health chose Color Health as a partner due to aligned philosophies, said Dr. Glenn Hamilton, chief medical officer of the insurer.

“Color provides end-to-end cancer care services for members, from a guidelines-based screening approach, all the way through treatment and survivorship,” Hamilton stated. “Color meets members where they are in their health journey, and provides customer care and service using the same humanitarian philosophy that guided us when we created Evry Health in 2017.”

This partnership comes at a time when about 80% of employers list cancer as a top health cost driver. About four in 10 adults will develop cancer in their lifetime and more and more younger workers are getting cancer. By working with Color Health, Evry Health is focused on expanding access to more proactive cancer care.

“We want our members to have access to state of the art screening, counseling and support for all aspects of cancer — from better understanding how best to stay healthy and mitigate cancer risk factors, interpretation and support for abnormal screening results, active treatment navigation and clinical services to help with symptom management, and support for cancer survivors,” Hamilton said.

Other cancer care companies include Thyme Care, OncoveryCare and AccessHope.
