A report published by MedCity News and sponsored by Smarter Technologies offers fresh insights from revenue cycle management executives and staff. The AI Index in RCM report shares what they like and dislike about the RCM software landscape, and improvements they would like to see. The report will be the focus of a webinar scheduled for Thursday, January 22 at 1 pm ET.

MedCity News surveyed 125 medical billing executives and support staff for the report, from CEOs through medical billing managers. They represent organizations of all sizes, from medical practices with 5,000 or fewer annual patient discharges to hospitals with more than 10,000 discharges each year. The report also highlights challenges and needs for small practices and larger ones. It found 80% of medical practices are moderately interested or very interested in AI technology.

Among the participants in the webinar are:

  • Arundhati Parmar, MedCity News Editor-in-Chief
  • Michael Gao, MD, Smarter Technologies CEO
  • Rebecca Burlin, RN, Lakeland Regional Health, Director, CDI (Clinical Documentation Improvement)

Among the areas the webinar will cover are:

  • What aspects of revenue cycle management are medical practices interested in leveraging with AI technology?
  • Past experiences from billing technology implementation.
  • Positive and negative impressions from RCM technology.
  • How prior authorization impacts medical practices.
  • Automated tasks that would improve workflow.
