This is the second episode of Season 2, which focuses on applying generative AI and AI broadly in healthcare settings. In this episode, I have two guests: Nate Wilson, co-founder and chief operating officer of Regard, an AI-powered clinical decision support company and Dr. Joe Evans, an internal medicine doctor and the chief health information officer at Sentara Health, a not-for-profit health care delivery system in Virginia and North Carolina.
Wilson describes how Regard’s AI platform contains both reactive/deterministic AI and generative AI and Evans explaines where such a platform has been most helpful for clinicians. Of note, where AI has found great reception with health systems is in note-taking of the patient visit. But in Evans’ perspective, AI has greater a role than reducing administrative burden in charting.
