Seven-hospital system Kettering Health Network has promoted its chief operating officer to take over the CEO role after its current top executive retires.
Fred Manchur, 58, will take over the chief executive job on Dec. 1, the Dayton Daily News reported. Manchur has worked as the health system’s first president and COO since January 2009.
Manchur will succeed 66-year-old Francisco Perez, who will retire in May after 17 years with Kettering. As of Dec. 1, Perez will become CEO emeritus, helping with the leadership transition until his retirement date.
Kettering is the second-largest adult hospital in the Dayton area, trailing Premier Health Partners. In July, the health system reached an (pdf) affiliation agreement with its seventh network hospital, Fort Hamilton Hospital.
Kettering posted operating revenue of $944 million last year.
