Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania has invested $60,000 in two medical companies.
The state-funded economic development organization that tries to link young technology companies with resources invested $50,000 in HealthOneMed Inc. and $10,000 in B. Braun Medical Inc., both in the Allentown area.
HealthOneMed in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, will use its investment to complete a marketing plan for its first product — Dispense-A-Pill, a patented device that dispenses pills on a pre-programmed schedule.

B. Braun Medical in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, will use its investment to figure out how manufacturing parameters affect the end uses of its medical products. B. Braun plans to use the resulting information to develop a maintenance and training process at its Allentown facility to improve product quality and reduce waste.
In all, the technology partners invested $480,300 in eight technology companies, according to a press release.
